Bread and Water?
If you’ve ever had trouble getting a copper pipe to quit dripping water long enough to dry so you can solder it to a fitting, this might be of some help to you.
Try stuffing a piece of dry bread about an inch or more back into the pipe. The bread will soak up the water and hold back any more long enough for you to make the solder joint. Then when you turn on the water later, the pressure will blow the bread, which by now is soggy and half dissolved anyway, right out of the pipe. The worst that can happen is, you might have to remove the screen on the faucet (if there is one), to let the bread out.
